LIHUI, Kauai — Christian Standhardinger matched his career-high, scoring 31 points in leading Hawaii to a 94-84 win over Division II Chaminade Kauai High School.
on the island of Kauai Saturday night.
Chaminade raced to a 13-point lead at 25-12 with 12 minutes left in the half. Keith Shamburger sparked a Hawaii comeback with a pair of 3-pointers, the second knotting the score at 34-34 with 4:18 left.
Isaac Fotu added 18 points for the Warrirors, 16 each from Shamburger and Garrett Nevels. Shamburger’s free throw with :18 left insured Hawaii of a double-digit win. All seven wins over the Silverswords have been by 10 points or more.
Kiran Shastri scored 25 points to lead Chaminade.
This is the fourth straight year Hawaii has played a non-conference game on a neighboring island. Last year the Rainbow Warriors beat the Silverswords on Molokai, 104-93.
